Fraser Island – The Icons

When you travel to Fraser Island there are some things that you simply must see, the natural and the man made, the places that most day tours will take you, the icons.

    • I think a combination of factors went into that, partly we could get to places ‘day tourists’ couldn’t, plus we had the luxury of waiting until a bus load had moved on (there was a large group at The Maheno when we got there) and it was definitely a quieter time of the year. There were people around though, one of the reasons we didn’t get any photos at Eli Creek was the crowds there (and we were racing the tide home at that point so couldn’t stick around). Also, if you look closely at the sand dune in the Lake Wabby photos, those little black dots are people 🙂 I believe it gets busy during school holidays but outside of that it is most definitely a great place for a retreat.
